Supercheap Auto to support National Trans Am Series at AWC Race Tasmania

Supercheap Auto has thrown its support behind the National Trans Am Series for the opening round at Symmons Plains Raceway this weekend.

In an extension of its support of the TCR Australia Series and Motorsport Australia, branding for the automotive aftermarket giant will be seen across the windscreens of all Trans Am entrants at AWC Race Tasmania – the opening round of the Shannons SpeedSeries.

The Trans Am Series has grown in popularity and competitiveness over the past three seasons, with big fields and amazing racing a typical hallmark of the category.

At Symmons Plains Raceway, 19 cars will face the starter’s orders, with names such as James Moffat, Ben Grice, Owen Kelly, Brett Holdsworth, Jett Johnson, Tyler Everingham and Jay Robotham set to take to the 2.41km Tasmanian circuit.

Supercheap Auto sponsorship manager Justin Murray says that the popularity of Trans Am is one of the great aspects of the Shannons SpeedSeries.

“The Trans Am Series is a fan favourite in the SpeedSeries stable with the V8 muscle of Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros, and Dodge Challengers,” said Murray.

“We’re proud to partner with the Australian Racing Group to make the Australian Trans Am Series even more SUPER at Race Tasmania.”

Trans Am is part of a huge weekend of national-level motorsport for the third-running of AWC Race Tasmania. Also on the card is the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters, the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, Tassie Tin Tops and Hyundai Excels.
