Seton claimed pole position, but it was Owen Kelly who led the field in the opening salvos, only to have a mechanical issue halt the progress of his Fujitsu0-sponsored Chev Camaro.
Seton initially chased Kelly, but just before Kelly’s misfortune, Herne had snuck through to second place and ultimately inheriting the top place after the 18 lap affair.
Former Super2 Series racer and Tasmanian local Sam Walter finished fourth, ahead of the struggling Kelly.
Rounding out the top 10 was Edan Thornburrow (Ford Mustang), Hugh McAlister (Ford Mustang), Zach Loscialpo (Chevrolet Camaro), Kyle Gurton (Ford Mustang) and Brad Chick (Dodge Challenger).
Five cars failed to finish the race, with significant damage for Graham Smith’s #27 Ford Mustang.
Two more Trans Am races will be held tomorrow.
