Race Tasmania Confirmed for 2025
The Australian Racing Group has confirmed its Race Tasmania event is unaffected by news of the dissolution of the Shannons SpeedSeries for 2025.
It was confirmed yesterday that Motorsport Australia will dissolve the SpeedSeries at the end of this year and move into a support role to SRO Australia’s creation and management of a new-look series headlined by GT World Challenge Australia.
A six-round provisional calendar for the 2025 SRO series has been released including visits to Phillip Island, Sydney Motorsport Park, Queensland Raceway, The Bend and Hampton Downs, with one slot in June to be filled.
An event owned and run by ARG, Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains debuted in 2021 and has featured the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series and Trico Trans Am Series as well as a range of other national and state level categories.
“The Australian Racing Group is pleased to confirm that the highly anticipated Race Tasmania will continue in 2025,” says ARG owner Barry Rogers.
“Run as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries since 2021, the staple of the Tasmanian motorsport calendar will continue to operate as a standalone event featuring some of the country’s most exciting national and local categories.
“ARG has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Events Tasmania, Motorsport Tasmania and AWC, who we have continued to work with extensively on plans for Race Tasmania in 2025 and beyond.
“We’re thrilled to continue building a marquee event on the Tasmanian sporting calendar and can’t wait to share more details on our 2025 plans in the coming weeks.”
